Featuring DJs Justin Paul, Everyday and Lee Mayjahs
Friday, March 20th,
Nashwa - Asheville, NC
Justin Paul
Justin Paul is in a sense the renaissance man of dance music. It’s not just that he’s an experienced DJ and producer or because of his successful run as the founder and CEO of Philadelphia, PA based Playloop Records. Rather, Justin Paul is revered more than most other dance music entrepreneurs because he works feverishly to create a vehicle where all dance music genres can share one roof. The diversity is at the heart of why Paul’s Playloop Records has seen a meteoric rise in business since the release of it’s critically acclaimed debut label compilation, 2007’s “Get Into The Loop Vol. 1”
Lee Mayjahs?
Lee Mayjahs? represents a new breed of DJ. As possibilities continue to expand and genres multiply, the whole idea of DJing has evolved to a point no one could have predicted. Lee Mayjahs? is not merely a DJ, but rather, an artist who creates an environment through both sound and dynamic imagery. Those who have witnessed a Lee Mayjahs? DJ set will attest that it’s nearly a spiritual experience.
DJ Everyday
DJ Everyday brings an electro, progressive, and tech house sound that has been rocking the dancefloor with his bass line driven tracks that has made him a crowd favorite. As a Playloop & PEX resident DJ, Everyday has played Camp Bisco Festival, Burningman, Circo Bisco NYE 2007, Playloop label parties, and the legendary PEX parties to name just a few.
Archedream for Humankind
ArcheDream is an archetypal mask performance theatre company that combines ancient art forms such as morality plays, allegories, Commedia dell Arte, folk and fairy tales in the modern medium of ultra violet light. The masks and costumes are all hand painted and glow in a brilliant colour on stage as the enchanting story unfolds into a memorable and uplifting experience. The Inspiration for ArcheDream’s archetypal mask theatre is derived from the universal qualities that all people share; the human body, breathing, the heartbeat, thinking, feeling, and following the conscience. All have felt the pleasure in happiness, the shock of failure, and the moment of anger, fear and relief. ArcheDream plays out stories with these moments personified as characters (or archetypes) who portray our human being. ArcheDream has performed around the world, most recently at the TED Conference in Long Beach, California, the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver and at the Burning Man Festival.
